The Midland GXT 1000 2-Way Radio has an astounding 5 watts of power, giving it a range of up to 36 miles. The GXT-1000 supports a total of 50 channels - 22 standard FRS/GMRS channels and 28 extra channels. Each standard channel supports 387 privacy codes.
An advanced feature supported by the GXT-1000 is Group Mode. If each person in your group is using these radios, you can place the radios in Group Mode and allocate a code to each radio. You are then able to make direct calls from one radio to another without anyone else in your Group hearing your private conversation. In addition, when you receive a call, the receiving GXT1000 will display the caller id number of the transmitting radio.
The GXT-1000 is rugged durable, and water resistant,. This radio is designed to be used in all types of weather. This radio also supports the NOAA weather channels and NOAA weather alerts giving you the capability of being alerted to any severe weather in your location.
Other features include a vibrating alert, selectable high/medium/low power modes, dual channel watch, selectable high, medium and low power modes, and channel scan.
