Protect Your Wireless-WiFi Equipment from Lightning Strikes with our Proven CAT5-6 POE Arrestor
When it comes to protecting your WiFi outdoor AP (Access Points), bridges, and other network equipment from lightning strikes, you need a reliable and effective solution. That’s where our RadioLabs inline CAT5-6 Lightning Arrestor comes in. This Gigabit, 24v POE inline arrestor has been tested and proven to work, providing instant protection against voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes.
Real World Tests! One of our customers, has been hit by lightning over 7 times (they’ve become an unfortunate Beta Tester sadly) in Florida, and each time, the lightning ruined everything in her home, including her toaster, cable modem, television, even the cable company’s modem, but our ZipBridge was saved. Not just once, but in 7 different instances, our Proven, inline Ethernet lightning arrestor, installed as our diagram shows, right to a ground rod, saved both sides of her bridge! Yes, it will possibly burn out the POE Adapter, but it’s much cheaper to replace our low cost POE Adapters, than replacing and reprogramming their entire bridge and network system!
We don’t just resell lightning protection, we know it works! We even advise customers, on new installs, exactly how to mount it, how to ground it properly, then how to seal it! This, is worth every single penny of your investment. All RadioLabs Bridge systems and outdoor Access Points, including our popular building extension kits, like the FusionAX and our original o2Surf WiFi connection systems, will not stop working, unless there’s a lightning strike! Secure your product’s lifetime and ensure your investment and internet does not go down!
How Does our Lightning Protection Work?
Our CAT5-6 Lightning Arrestor is designed to be installed inline between your POE device and the CAT5 cable, input and output. A short ground wire connects directly to ground, providing a path for the electrical surge to follow and protecting your equipment. In the event of a lightning strike, the device will instantly blow out like a fuse, preventing damage to your valuable network equipment. Think of this as a “Fuse” which will blow out, faster than damage can occur to your network equipment.
Benefits of Using Our CAT5-6 Lightning Protection Solution:
- Instant Protection: Our lightning arrestor provides instant protection against voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes.
- Easy Installation: Simply plug it into your POE device and connect the ground wire to a grounding point.
- Wide Compatibility: Supports 24v and 48v POE power over Ethernet, making it compatible with a wide range of devices.
- Proven Performance: Multiple customers have reported successful use of our CAT5-6 Lightning Arrestor in protecting their RadioLabs Wireless Bridge Systems.

What is a POE?
POE (Power over Ethernet) is a technology that allows data and power to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable. Our CAT5-6 Lightning Arrestor supports both 24v and 48v POE power over Ethernet, making it compatible with a wide range of devices. All RadioLabs’ outdoor WiFi devices, use 24 volt Power Over Ethernet Adapter and 48V Power Over Ethernet on all commercial series models. For Longer cable runs our high current Commercial series bridge systems, pass the voltage, plus Data through these lightning arrestors, on long cable runs up to 100 meters (328 feet) (All RadioLabs’ WiFi Access Points, Wireless Bridge Kits and Client Devices use a single wire Power Over Ethernet, to send Voltage and Data to the device outside)
